Motorola Atrix HD

Motorola leaked the Atrix HD on their website and it has some great specs with something that did disappoint me.

The Motorola Atrix HD specs are as follows

  • Android 4.0 ICS
  • 8MP rear camera
  • 1.3MP front camera
  • LED flash
  • 3.5mm Headset Jack
  • HTML 5 Web Browser
  • WI-FI 802.11 a,b,g,n
  • Bluetooh Class 2
  • 4G Mobile HotSpot for up to 5 devices
  • Micro USB Charging port
  • HDMI out slot
  • Data Transfer Rate of USB 2.0
  • The normal GPS and Location services
  • 1080p HD video capture at 30 Frames Per Second
  • Display is 4.5-inch with HD ColorBoost technology (720 x 1280) TFT LCD
  • MicroSD card slot that supports up to 32GB
  • 1.5 GHz Dual Core Processor
  • 1 GB RAM and 8 GB ROM
  • Battery is 1780 mAh

There our a few more features beyond the standard spec list. First off it will be sporting a Kevlar backing for a Stylishly thin design. Motorola claims that it will be “Splash resistant, inside and out”. They also have a SMARTACTIONS app that helps preserve battery life. Also the ColorBoost display will offer more vibrant colors and sharper images. Now there is one thing that I find disappointing and that is the battery size. Why are high end LTE phones being released with batteries that are less than 2000 mAh ??

I hope the SMARTACTIONS app will truly help the 1780 mAh battery last a full day. There is no set release date but the phone looks to be going to AT&T from the looks of the pictures and the Date on the phone is July 26 so maybe later this month we will see this bad boy in stores. I myself am very excited for I own the original Atrix 4G and this looks like what I feel the Atrix 2 should have been. I do however wish it shipped with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean but ICS will do for now.
